Friday was the most magical day of this year for me!
It was the first day of fall!
I get high during this time of year and before you question our friendship, let me explain.
I love spring as things come to life and bloom and grow. I had my fist successful tomato plant this year and am still picking them off to enjoy. ( this was a big deal because my love of gardening involves tossing it into the ground and walking away letting nature do its thing. Baby steps people, baby steps)
The smells are sweet, the flowers are beautiful, the bees are buzzing and trees are celebrating!
Fall is different.
The leaves on tress begin to transition from green to shades of yellow, orange, reds and browns. As I walk down the trails, I am greeted by shower of fallen leaves and the smells of fireplaces, rain and the smell of cooler temps.
Pumpkin patches and corn mazes are everywhere!
Sweaters, scarves and boots move from the back of my closet to the front.
Hot coco and homemade chicken noodle soup and chili make it to the menu for the week of dinners.
Football has begun.
Halloween and the holidays are just around the corner.
Moods of those who are spent from the heat of the summer perk up.
Everyone has a favorite season and Fall is mine. It wakes me up as nature begins to hibernate.
My hubby and I made an impromptu trip up to the mountains this weekend to take in some of the leaves changing. I was in such awe of all the yellows, I failed to snap any photos.
By the time it dawned on my to do so, the best views were already behind us and we were coming back down the mountain, I captured one.
I almost deleted this one but then I decided this depicts fall!
It’s raining as we are driving on a mountain road and there’s just a hint of color peaking out and the smells are amazing! Had we not been driving, we would have been at home, vegging on the couch binge watching Netflix because what else do you do on days like this?
Happy Fall Ya’ll!
