Go on, Girl!

O…M…Geeeeeee! I am so in love with this book!

Ever read a book that you didn’t want to put down because you wanted to keep reading?  If you are anything like me, sleep is important to function as an adult so even at the wee hours of the night, I had to force myself to put down the kindle and catch some Zzzz’s so that I could continue moving forward and function.

Go on Girl is an amazing, fun, totally relatable story about a woman who is trying to do it all and not lose herself in the process. Juggling a demanding full time job, marriage and raising a 6 year old, Sydney is just trying to do the best for everyone which includes agreeing to sell their beloved home and move AND joining the PTA to ensure her daughter gets into the “in crowd” of her 1st grade class. Crazy right?

Hilary works in the funny semantics to how some woman really are when it comes to what they do for their kids. Sydney learns first hand by the end of the school year who she can trust and who her real friends are. She also learns a lot about herself and what really matters in life. The daily struggles we all have and how important it is to have those connections with our family’s and friends to help us get through it all.

The humor, frustrations and surprises along the way were written beautifully. The characters all had a class of their own and I wanted to be right there in the circle where everything took place.  Hilary really knocked this one out of the ballpark and had me laughing hysterically through out the journey. I can say as a mom to two adult children now that what little time I spent on the PTA wasn’t as enjoyable as Hilary’s book.  Girlfriends are hard to come by because we are always competing with each other and Hilary shared how it could be with the right group of ladies.

In honor of my friend Hilary, I am helping promote her release day which is TODAY.

And there is more!

To celebrate the release she is  also putting Plan Bea on Sale for Free – which is also an amazing and fun story. Last but not least, all the details about the book and the amazing author and my friend Hilary!

Here is the blurb about the book:

Executive, wife, and mother of an outgoing first-grader, Sydney Clayton crushes her day-to-day obligations at work but flounders in the cutthroat world of parental politics.

She manages to avoid the local drama until she’s faced with an ultimatum: join the Forest River PTA or risk her daughter becoming a social outcast. Sydney reluctantly becomes treasurer, and takes the recently vacated position of the president’s sidekick. If protecting the children’s freedom of speech, one best friend ban at a time, isn’t complicated enough, Sydney and her husband receive an unexpected offer for their house they don’t think they can refuse.

Embroiled in the deception and manipulation rife among the elementary school moms, Sydney struggles. Should she sell the home she worked so hard to build in a town where betrayal runs rampant? Or should she stay put to avoid the fallout from uprooting her child? As Sydney focuses on what is best for her daughter, and lets go of her judgments, she finds friendship can develop in very unexpected ways.

Warm, witty, and wise, Go On, Girl dramatizes the dilemmas of life in the suburbs and the bonds shared by women. Perfect for fans of Class Mom and I Don’t Know How She Does It.
