This is 20/20

Any of you every watch the news show? I grew up watching it with my grandmother and mom and then as I got older, I stopped watching the news altogether because it made me cranky.

This year started out pretty calm before taking a complete nosedive into the world of Jumanji, thank you COVID-19. It’s crazy to think that it’s almost the end of May (okay its June, no wait July). I have been working from home since March 17th but who’s counting anymore.

There are no updates, news worthy snip-its in this post. No politics, no medical updates, just lighthearted humor. With the help of friends and family, here is a list of the things I have learned since the world lost its mind, literally.

I needed and purchased a new office chair that I kept putting off.

My puppy is a needy little brat….

My diet improved…

My water intake did not improve…

I am 100% more productive, until I am not…

Beer…

Re-organization was needed for a happier working environment… Lotion, Chapstick and water bottle all within arms reach.

The amount of trash we produce because we are stuck inside eating all the food...

OMG, the dishes. I feel like all I have done for weeks on end are load and unload the dishwasher and reload it again and again, and you get the idea….

I discovered I can and have wasted HOURS all social media plate forms… people are C.R.A.Z.Y. ya’ll.

How much money we have saved by not being able to go to Starbucks…

How the money saved bought me a new wardrobe because of all the online shopping I have done…shush

Cleaned out, un-followed a mess of groups, pages, and people on all social media platforms and must admit, my feeds are so much nicer now, calmer even.

Pajama’s…

My diet declined since I started this list…

Long lunches…

Adult beverages with said long lunches, esponsibly of course…

Netflix while running reports…

The cats are getting annoyed with us being home all the time…

The dog is in pure heaven with us being home all the time…

Fixing meals, over it…

Door Dash…

Paper plates because dishes suck…

Microsoft Teams is both awesome and the suck…

DID not cut my bangs….

Need to go to the salon sooooo bad…

Every time I get a sore throat, I drown myself in allergy meds and pray!

Virtual HH’s are quite entertaining, (I can see your lips moving, but hear nothing) lets try this again…

The meme’s that have been created during this pandemic are by far the best…

Tik Tok…why?

Speakerphones….

Happy to report, I have worn pants every.single.day…

I stopped wearing make up…

Because there is nothing else to do… Everyone is walking more; I see dogs in my neighborhood I didn’t know existed…

Schedules are so lost. We started out really good at keeping with our normal schedule and as we entered week 6, hitting snooze was becoming more enticing…

I stopped doing my hair, it goes up in a bun and I call it good…

Facemasks have become the latest fashion accessory, in all shapes, colors and models…

Anyone know what day it is…?

There is a coin shortage, please raise your hand if you are still using actual cash when you are making your purchases?

Many dogs and cats found homes because much of the population is home…

I deleted and recreated with the help of my amazing hubby this website.

Remember as the world opens back up, the new normal will be much different. Hopefully we will all be much nicer humans for the greater good. If this has taught us anything, it’s patients, love, respect for the whole world and to slow down wash your hands, don’t touch your face, fricken wear your mask when you go out & about and above all, please be kind.

Love and hugs to all those patiently waiting for retail of all kinds to reopen. I look forward to having a date night with my hubby soon at an actual bar and not the living room couch. To the front line workers, essentials employees, your families for supporting you, thank you.

Love and hugs!

  1. Since this whole thing started your and my life sound 100 % mirrored. For starters 3/17 was the day for me as well and the dishes? Hah, running the dishwasher became our meme here ‘is it THAT time again already?’ Still no paper plates, though. I was never big on shopping, but having that special dinner with the hubby – that sounds soooo good! I got to admit that I am slowly losing hope that this world comes out a nicer and kinder place, with all this pigheadedness about ‘freedom’ and ‘not wearing a mask’ going on – sigh – why people cannot see that it is currently a necessity I cannot understand.
Anyways – enough of it. I am happy that you’re back and hope the new site brings you loads of joy!

In fact, I’m hoping for a total reboot at the start of the new year which is practically breathing down our necks. I mean this year is zinging by in a giant blur. Anywho, do stay safe an well, my dear. When you feel like boogieing, come over to dance with me any ole time. Have a great week!
